It's a terrific collection, particularly "I Hold My Father's Paws."
So here's my latest* (my first paying cover design gig!):
Yes, that is a whale.
*downres'd for your convenience
"If the present be compared with the remote past, it is easily seen that in all cities and in all peoples there are the same desires and the same passions as there always were. So that, if one examines with diligence the past, it is easy to foresee the future of any commonwealth, and to apply those remedies which were used of old; or, if one does not find that remedies were used, to devise new ones owing to the similarity between events. But, since such studies are neglected and what is read is not understood, or, if it be understood, it is not applied in practice by those who rule, the consequence is that similar troubles occur at all times."
—Niccolo Machiavelli, The Discourses
"No matter how much I think I might ignite, I prob'ly won't."
—Kit Kincaid, Bowfinger

It's a good collection, so I'm glad I didn't screw it up.
Cool.
I always forget you were an art-dude before you became a word-dude.
Guess it turned out okay :)
Nice Work.
But, can a guy get a text wrap around here??? :-)
Seriously though, quite nice.

Re: Nice Work.
This one's a bit small, so a lot of the detail is muddy, but it gets the demonstration across. I can't wait to see it in print.
(I will. A bit later. Have to run some errands here in a few.)
Thanks for a great read!
Yeah, the poor whale is being eaten by blurb copy, but they're good blurbs, so I don't mind!
How's the book itself? Looks pretty interesting, but it's always hard to tell..
The book is awesome. Aside from reading for illustration ideas, I just really enjoyed the stories.
Ho. Ly. COW. That is marvelous! I, too, would pick it up because of the cover. And I had NO IDEA just how truly artsy you are! What a wonderful thing to find out.
I will now walk around the rest of the morning in awe.
That is great! Looks wonderful! I'm proud of you!
And congratulations on your sale.
